The Russian Fischer design. Available in 3.75" and 4". The pieces are heavily weighted and have felted bottoms. The 3.75" set looks good on a 2" Board, and the 4" set on a 2.25" Board
The 4" set has opposite bulbs on the Bishops (Russian style.).

Cross
The Double Cross Chess set is triple weighted and felted. The King is 3.75" and the set has a very unique knight carved with the serious player in mind. Comes only in ebonized and boxwood. Works well on a 2" to 2.25" board.
Russian Style Staunton
The Russian Ebonized set. Nicely weighted with a 3.75" king. The ebonized pieces have the look and feel of ebony at a much lower price. This set is pictured on a Black and Birdseye Maple board with 2" squares

The set has a 3.5" King and Queen (hence the "modern") The King does have a notched crown, but the queen has a much nicer shape. Comes in stained black and natural boxwood.
